... a pig with attitude ...
Called 'rupture pigs' when they develop a hernia, they are kept apart from the rest of the litter. This seems to be partly to stop any damage to the vulnerable swelling, and partly because they are 'imperfect'.
The hernia doesn't apparently cause them any discomfort, however it means that they are virtually hand reared, as there are usually so few of them.
In fact this little pig had developed into a complete comedian as a result, and would devise endless ways of engaging your attention ... and any extra food that was going.
He was going to be a very hard one to send to market ...
