... a gift from the cat ...
We had two cats that used to bring mice in regularly. They were invariable dead and sometimes in pieces.
One early morning I came down to find that the two cats had left three dead mice on the front door mat ... as a gift.
Had one got two? Was the third a spare from the previous day? Had they collaborated (least likely if you knew these cats)? And - most puzzling of all - why had they laid them out in such an orderly way on the mat?
At that point I thought it was important to make something of this precious gift - and that is how the SILVER MOUSE came to be.
I went on to cast it into bronze, and hope to try making it in glass sometime. Together the three materials could make an interesting version of 'Three Blind Mice'.
