Masks have recurred throughout the decades, and this Pierrot mask was originally made early in Sioban's working life, and then re-worked into this piece later.
PIERROT WITH SASH is an early experiment mixing normal 'lost wax' bronze casting with 'direct casting' of the sash. Cast at Lunts Foundry in Birmingham, we regarded this as a success.
However it is also a haunting and serene image with a sense of movement provided by the sash.
